In this episode, I want to share the story of how Never Alone Faith Over Cancer came to be. Because I think understanding where this site came from will help you understand why it exists and why it matters so deeply to me.
A Diagnosis That Changed Everything
On January 4, 2017, I was diagnosed with cancer. What followed were three surgeries over seven months, a blood clot, and immunotherapy. It was, without question, the hardest season of my life. However, it was also the season where Jesus became more real to me than He had ever been before.
During that time, a small group from Timberlake Church in Redmond, Washington walked alongside me. They prayed for me, showed up for me, and reminded me constantly that I was not alone. As a result, that experience planted a seed — the idea that no one walking through cancer should ever have to feel isolated and without hope.
Why This Site Exists
This site is the result of that seed. God gave me specific gifts — the ability to build websites, over a thousand speeches, a love of writing, and a heart for prayer. And because of that, I believe He gave me those gifts for exactly this purpose. To build something that reaches the 92% of people who will be touched by cancer in their lifetime and remind them that Jesus is with them in every step of the journey.
Most importantly, this site is not about me. It is for you. Everything here — the stories, the podcast, the blog, the devotionals — exists to give you more hope, encouragement, inspiration, and peace in your journey with cancer.
