My Story - Blaine Millet

January 4th, 2017, at 7:05 am, I got the call..."It looks like a cancerous tumor the size of an orange in your bladder, and it needs to come out."

I didn’t expect cancer.
No one does.

The day I heard the words — “You have cancer” — everything shifted. Time slowed. My thoughts raced. And deep inside, a question echoed:
“God… are You here?” and "Why Me?"

Fear crept in. Not just fear of the disease, but fear of what it would take from me — my strength, my peace, my future. Welcome to the unknown.

I felt vulnerable. Exposed. Human.

But even in that moment, something stirred. A whisper in my spirit:
“You are not alone.”

This journey was going to show me what it truly meant to be "born again." And it did. Every day throughout the journey, I found I was changed... from the inside out. For perhaps the first time, I realized what it truly meant to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. For the first time, I knew he was with me through everything. Peace.

Being a planner, I shifted my mind to the practical. What doctor. What hospital. How do we get this validated and a plan in place for what to do next? A million questions.

God showed up early. He led me (great story I'll share in my blog and podcast) to the most incredible doctor I could have asked for, Miracle #1. God was in control, and I knew it. Now I needed to remind myself to give it all to Him who can handle anything. Easy to say, tough to do. 

Surgery, three of them, over 7 months to get this nasty tumor out and under control. Miracle #2, the tumor hadn't penetrated my muscle wall, so it was contained in my bladder rather than spreading to other parts of my body. Against all odds, it was localized and surgically removed on the third attempt.

The process was hard. Physically, emotionally, spiritually.
 There were days I couldn’t pray. Days I couldn’t think straight. Days I just sat in silence, asking Jesus to hold me. I knew he had me, but you still ask.

And He did.

I clung to scripture like oxygen.
Verses like Isaiah 41:10 — “Do not fear, for I am with you…” — became lifelines.
I learned that faith isn’t about feeling strong. It’s about trusting the One who is.

Jesus didn’t remove every trial. But He walked with me through every one.

Surgery was just the beginning. Now I needed immunotherapy treatment, ongoing for over a year, to build up my immunity against this coming back. Wasn't pleasant, but I knew I was on the downhill side of the mountain.

Oh, and there was the blood clot episode...Miracle #3. God wanted my doctor to discover a blood clot in my leg...before it became serious. More treatment for a year to help me deviate from the recovery plan. But a welcome deviation since the consequences could be very bad. The daily shots weren't fun, but the alternative wasn't acceptable. Just another blessing to add to my long list.

As treatment progressed, something shifted — not just in my body, but in my soul.

I began to see healing not just as physical recovery, but as spiritual renewal.
I saw how Jesus was using my weakness to reveal His strength.
I saw how peace could exist even in pain.

And I knew: this story wasn’t just mine. It was His story. I was just the character in the story. It is a story about having a deep, personal relationship with Jesus and how it truly can change your life. It was meant to be shared.

I realized, years later, that my journey wasn't just mine, it was also yours. Anyone going through a rough time, especially with cancer, should have the same story. He wants us all to have this story so we can tell others...that's the BENEFIT of our trials with cancer.

There are two primary benefits to cancer. First, it opens our souls like never before... we realize we are not in control. He is. And it's time to have a true, deep relationship with Jesus. Second, we need to use our stories to help others see and feel what we feel by having this relationship. We need to share it and help others.

And, most importantly, we need to realize one incredibly powerful and true fact...

We are NEVER ALONE...Faith ALWAYS wins out over cancer.

It doesn't mean healing, but it means having Faith allows you to defeat it mentally, if not physically. It prepares us. I created this site to offer what I (and most likely you) needed most...
Hope. Encouragement. Inspiration. Prayer. Community. Jesus.

I want every person affected by cancer to know:
You are not forgotten.
You are not invisible.
You are NEVER ALONE.

This is a place where faith meets reality.
Where stories speak life.
Where Jesus is the center — and hope is never out of reach.

If you’re walking through cancer — or walking beside someone who is — I want you to know this:

Jesus is with you.
He was with me. He still is.
And He will be with you, too.

You are seen.
You are loved.
And in every moment —
You are truly NEVER ALONE.
